It’s been awhile!  I’ve got a shoot with Parts by Heather in the upcoming weeks for her new collection.  Besides that, this past winter and spring hasn’t been very busy.  I did a bridal shoot quite a few months back during Christmas (whooa, it’s been hella long since I’ve blogged!) and before that, I did a collaborative shoot.  I have some photos from both those shoots… maybe if I have some time I’ll put some up.

That’s about all I have for modelling news.  Other stuff… I’m done my finals and I’m just chilling until my summer courses start.  I’m taking Eng Lit and Poli 369 – Issues in International Security, both of which are going to be exciting!

I might be moving on campus at the end of the summer (hopefully!) but that is all contingent on whether or not I get a job that doesn’t pay me peanuts!

Tschuss!

Oh right, I’m also working on my German … see how that’ll go…

I’ve been contacting MUAs, hairstylists and wardrobe stylists to see if anyone would be interested in collaborating with S. and I on a photoshoot at his downtown studio.  I’ve got a MUA and a hairstylist lined up but I’m not too sure how seriously committed they can be to the shoot. But…fingers crossed!! It’ll be the first solo shoot for me!

Aside from that though, our team is still looking for a stylist or a designer who will be willing to lend his clothes and expertise to our shoot. :(

In the meantime, we’re just thinking of a basic fashion shoot.  The whole concept is to have your typical in-studio shoot with minimal props and a simple, non-distracting back drop.  All attention would be focused on the model (oh god, I’m so scared!!) and the magic that would be created by the style team.  The photographer is looking to do something outrageous with crazy, over-the-top make up and hair.  The designer that I have my eye on is a local one who has some absolutely stunning outfits and designs – totally outrageous. ;)

Wish us luck!

Although I doubt I write frequently nor good enough to elicit a regular readership, I do feel that it is important for me to write a post – for the slight chance that there is some soul out there who follows my blog – to explain why over half of my entries have disappeared.

Well, they haven’t.  Due to the blurring of public and private life, as well as for some people in my life who have been reading this that I’d rather not, I’ve decided to private some entries out of respect for some of the tension that has arisen from this situation.

I’m not choosing to stop writing about my feelings, as impulsive some of the entries may be, because this is MY blog and those feelings, thoughts and experiences belong to me.  I will, however, exercise some more caution in not having identifying elements in my entries for people that I’m writing about.  But no, I will not edify my writing for anyone.

That is all.

Good night.

FTW.

Read my posts IN CONTEXT.  I’ll be making withdrawals from the Pseudonym Bank.

Hey my lovelies! =)

After my early morning political science exam yesterday, after which my professor spent almost an hour telling me my writing was too bland – without personal flair – and, is lacking in decisiveness.  I came out of his office with a more than slightly bruised ego since I have, throughout my university career, always thought that I’m relatively good at writing essays.  And I’ve also depended on essays to boost up most of my grades and they usually do…obviously not in this case.  I received a B-, much lower than my usual B+ to As.  I wasn’t expecting and have never had someone, especially a professor, say to me that my writing was good but I needed “help” constructing solid, and analytical arguments.  I’m too “descriptive”.  Well, I did do the research and the writing in a day and a half…so, is a B- that that bad?  I’m just sad that my worst work (obvs my fault since I procrastinated and left it to the last day) was used to reflect my writing skills.  SO! What’s a girl to do to give herself a little treat after a grueling 2.5 hr exam and essay criticisms? Shopping, DUH!

Okay so I’ve just had the MOST random night.  Christina calls me today and asks me if I want to go see a fashion/modeling/stage show thing she’s modeling for at Plush Night Club. I told her I was down for it but later on in the night I became engaged in a fight with the boyfriend (we’ve kissed and made up…sort of) and was contemplating not going….but!  She called again and said one of the models was a no-show and asked if I wanted sub her! RANDOM! I’ve NEVER done any sort of modeling in my life before! I have had experience singing, dancing and performing on stage but never as something for people to just LOOK at! I’m short too – about 5′6″ – and being Asian I’ve found that the market out there doesn’t have much room for us… Don’t get me wrong though! Asian models are becoming more and more popular these days but we’re still not in as much demand as caucasian models, I would think.  Anyway!

When she offered…I took it! I definitely didn’t want to pass it up just because Ayden and I got into a massive fight.  Fuck that.  :D So…I told him I was going and by that time he’d already come around and stopped being the douche he is when we fight . So, we headed down there and got to the place around 10 pm and from there on I was immediately whisked away backstage to get my hair and make up down professionally.  I just wanna say that I’ve never experienced having multiple people fussing over me before like that!  It was like being plucked, prodded, poked and painted like an ornament.

The show took forever to start (it was supposed to start at 10:30 but didn’t start closer to 12 or 12:30, I forget) but once it did, it picked up quite a bit and we were done in 20 minutes? I guess fashion show/stage shows aren’t very long things…. The whole idea behind it was this celebrity/paparazzi thing where all the models walk on stage in groups of five and did a bunch of poses while a bunch of cameraman were acting as paparazzi. They took a crap load of photos of us and generally just buzzed around us the entire time clicking away.  Click click! We did that for a couple of sets before it all ended.

One thing that happened tonight that was even more random was when I bumped into an old highschool friend of mine! In actuality, the clothing line is actually owned by her boyfriend’s sister!  I know that sounds so far removed but it was pretty cool to bump into her there since I haven’t seen her in a really long time.  She was with the girls managing the show and got to sit on the VIP side of the stage (I guess you call it that).

But yah, it was fun and once the photographers release the photos….I’ll be sure to post some up!  As for now, I’ll post up some pictures Christina (who’s a published author now…at 19!!! SO PROUD! That’s how old we are… young’uns still) and I took while backstage getting our hair and make up down.  Some of them are pretty awesome since I’ve got old school hair rollers in and I look like a burlesque whore-y house wife from the 50s. LOL.

So…that essay I was freaking out about last night isn’t done.  It’s no where near completion yet and IT’S DUE TOMORROW!!!! I think I’m in a state of apathetic shock and/or resignation and I’ve faced the fact that no matter how hard I try at this point, it’s gonna suck.  I had almost two weeks to do this thing and I waited (again) to the last possible minute.

I can’t help it!  I just work better under pressure!! :( :( I SOOO NEED TO ACE THIS THOO!!! ><

Oh right, my topic is now Special Interest Groups in Canadian Politics – EW.  I know, it was supposed to be about Parliamentary reform but I just couldn’t drum up anything interesting nor bold to say about it and my prof did say my writing isn’t “gutsy” enough.  Fuck that.  This is evidence based politics and thus, postive.  I’m also not gonna get all crazy passionate about a 2000 word paper on a subject I could care less about.

Btw, I promise my next post will not be about school as my posts have been recently.  I promise some juicy gossip! Including updates on my Ayden and some guy who’s infatuation with me seems to stretch all the 1000s of km between him and I…although I have to admit, I’m more creeped out than flattered and kind of suspect his mom – YES! HIS MOM! – who adores me is trying to set us up.  Creeeepy.

Urrghh, I have an essay due on Thursday and I haven’t even started the research yet.  It’s on parliamentary reform for my political science class and it’s supposed to be 10 pages….not SUPER bad but still bad enough to drive me to tears, while kicking my self for procrastinating to the utmost last minute.  FUCKAAAAA.

I’m taking summer courses since I’ve decided to change the direction of my BA and because I’m missing most of the prerequisites and almost all the foundational courses. I want to find some kind of stable, non-office bitch career and being an Arts student doesn’t really give me a definitive path to follow. So, I’m trying out political science and maybe a minor in international relations.

Canadian Politics and Government was the first foundational course I decided to taste and HOLY HELL was it mind-numbingly boring! I feel bad, too, for saying this cause I am Canadian but any type of nationalistic pride does not help the dryness of the course material.

I guess I’ll see how this all goes…

What am I?

I blog whenever I can find the energy and time to come here and write. You can find topics about university life, relationships, sex, fashion, art, social and political issues, or anything else I find fascinating. Writing used to be one of my more cathartic experiences but life no longer allows for much of that anymore. This is my way (hopefully) of getting that back.
